Erin Go Bragh Pitch Allocation Policy


This document is intended as a Policy Document to manage the allocation of pitches in Hazelbury Park, Hunters Run and St Catherine’s Park. The document states the guidelines to be followed with regards to allocated slots and the steps to be followed where changes to allocated slots are necessary for training or matches.

It is requested that this Policy is adhered to by all Mentors and Club Members with immediate effect.

Erin Go Bragh CLG promotes a “Give Respect get Respect” ethos and expects its members to support this.


  • Pitches are allocated as per the attached listings document (or as updated from time to time and posted on the Club Website).
  • Club Policy is that official fixtures take priority over training allocations. This applies to all teams/ age groups.
  • Mentors who wish to re-arrange any official fixtures or who wish to arrange a challenge match that will result in a clash with an allocated training slot, must contact the relevant section Secretary to request the use of the relevant pitch. A minimum of 48hrs notice must be given where practical.
  • Mentors have a duty of care to minimise the impact of such matches on pre-arranged training slots and are requested to review the Pitch Allocation Listings in advance and should always seek to arrange games where there is stated pitch availability.
  • Where a match is scheduled to be played after your teams allocated training slot, you are requested to finish your training session a minimum of 15mins ahead of the start of the following match. Alternatively, you may seek to relocate to another pitch / area ‘if available only’ to complete your training session.
  • All training sessions must finish 5mins before the scheduled finish time so as to allow the following team ample time to organise.
  • Teams must not encroach or interfere with any allocated training sessions.  Where a mentor has a need to change their allocated training slot (for whatever reason) and that change is likely to impact on another training slot, prior agreement must be sought from the lead mentor or section Secretary in all instances. If agreement cannot be reached, priority is given to the team with the allocated slot. Mentors are requested to check the Pitch Allocation Listingsin advance and should always seek to re-arrange training based on available training slots.

  • Mentors are asked to show each other, players, parents and all Club members respect at all times and are reminded that they are representing the club.
  • Any instance of the above Policy not being adhered to, must be notified to your relevant section Secretary immediately.
  • Serious breaches of this Club Policy will result in offending mentors being requested to attend the Clubs Disciplinary Committee to explain their actions. The Club Executive will decide how an alleged breach of this Policy shall be dealt with.

“The conduct of Mentors’/Officers who as their primary function are involved with youth is of paramount importance, given that these Mentors’/Officers are exercising a very important leadership role for Erin Go Bragh GAA Club. This is necessary to gain the confidence and trust of the young people, their parents and the wider community. Misconduct should be dealt with firmly as this may inhibit the healthy development of our club”.
