Well Done to the St. Catherines Minors

Well done to the St. Catherine minor football team who won their league final on Sunday in O’Toole Park, Crumlin. The lads play in their championship final next Sunday.

Well done to the St. Catherines under 16 footballers who won their league final. Best of luck to the St. Catherine minor footballers in their league final on Sunday. Well done to the St. Catherines under 16 footballers who drew their game to make the league playoff final. Well done to the St. Catherines minors who reached their championship final with a win over Kilmacud Crokes.

All Ireland Final Replay Ticket Information

The Executive Committee have decided to give preference to those who were allocated a ticket for the All Ireland football final on 18th September. Currently, the club have received the same allocation of tickets for the replay on 1st October. In the event that we receive more tickets, we will place all subsequent requests on a reserve list and if necessary, will carry out a further draw on the evening of Friday 30th September. Please text club phone @ (087) 7541948 to be placed on the reserve list. Closing date for the reserve list is Friday 30th September at 9am (morning). No late requests will be entertained after this cut-off time.

 Please note as before that all paid up adult club members are entitled to request tickets.

Our Cul Camp & Advanced Camp are this Week

Thanks to everyone who supported our summer camps last week. We hope all the boys and girls had a great week. A big thanks to our organisers and coaches. Thanks also to the Dublin inter county players including Ciaran Kilkenny,  Ali Toomey,  David O' Callaghan who took time out to coach at the advance camp.

We hope everyone had a great time at our family fun day. Thanks to everyone who helped out in making the day a success and apologies to the Erin Go Bragh princesses let down by Anna and Elsa. Meeting the Erin Go Bragh princesses must have been too much for them.

Well done to the St. Catherine under 15 footballers who had a good win over St. James Gaels. The St. Catherine under 16 footballers continued their good run in the league with a win over Naomi Fionnbarra.

Hard luck to our footballers who lost to unbeaten table toppers Erin Isle in the league. Leading by 4 points at half time a more experienced Isles team came out on top ending Erin Go Bragh hope of reaching the league play offs. The season does not end there though as they now prepare for a championship semi final in the coming weeks. Training continues every Monday and Wednesdays at 7.45 in Hazelbury Park. New players are welcome.

Well done to Ellen Gribben who was part of the Dublin U14 football development squad who took part in the the Leinster blitz in Portlaoise last Saturday. The Dubs just lost out to All Ireland Champs Kildare in the final.

Well Done to Sarah Duggan

Well done to Sarah Duggan who was one of the 11 girls from clubs across the Capital who represented the Dubs on Sunday in Portlaoise at the TG4 Leinster finals.  It was a very busy day for the girls as they played Westmeath at half time in the Intermediate final and were part of the guard of honour for the Senior final. All 11 girls also took part in the 1916 commemoration at half time in the senior game.

Well Done to Football Feile Team

Well done to our football feile team at the weekend. The lads had a tough group opening with a draw against Naomh Olaf before loosing out to hosts Cuala. A win over Final Ravens was a must in their final group game but despite a great effort the lads just lost out. The lads did the club proud.

Well done our junior footballers on Thursday. They beat Shankill in their opening championship game at 2-7 to 2-13. Their next game is against Tolka Valley Harps in the championship in Hazelbury Park at 15.00 on Sunday May 15th. Training continues every Monday and Wednesday 7.45-9 in Hazelbury Park. New players are always welcome.

Well done to the St. Catherine under 15 and minor footballers who both won their league games on Sunday. Hard luck to the under 16s who lost to O’Toole in extra time in the championship.

Under 9s in Camovie Blitz Action

The under 9 girls travelled to Westmanstown to play a Camogie blitz on a very cold Sunday morning. They played 3 games in total, playing Westmanstown twice and St. Peregines once. The girls were very competitive in all 3 games.  They showed all their skills and tackled bravely.  Their mentors and the large group of parents who turned out to support them were all very proud of their performances today.

Under 9 Girls Put in Mighty Effort in Rolestown

The Under 9 girls played Fingal Ravens on Sunday morning in football. The match was held in Rolestown in terrible conditions. The girls battled throughout the game. They moved the ball extremely well considering the conditions and clocked up some fantastic scores. Well done to all the girls.

Erin Go Bragh Take Part in St. Patricks Parade

Echoes of “Who are we? EGB!!!” rang out once again through the streets of Blanchardstown, as our Club participated in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Thursday last. There was plenty of fun and festivity on the day, which was greatly added to by all the kids and adults who participated from our Club. Special thanks go to Zed who suffered the heat to become our Leprechaun for the day.

Our Easter eggstravaganza takes place on March 18th from 6.30-9.00. This is for boys and girls up to 12 years old . The evening includes: Disco, Carl the Magician Show, Easter Bunny with Treat, Facepainting, Coffee Shop for Parents. Admission is €5.00 and all are welcome.

Cycleton in Blanchardstown Centre on March 5th

Our cycleton in Blanchardstown Centre will take place agin this year on Saturday March 5th from 9.30-5.30. We need 24 Volunteers to do  2 hour slots. That’s 3 volunteers per 2 hour/slot 40 min cycling, rest of time shaking buckets. Anyone interested intaking part in this important fundraiser and club publicity event can contact Finbarr 0863837411.

Smartphone Table Quiz next Friday 19th February at 8pm in the Grasshopper Inn, Clonee. 10% discount on bar food menu on presentation of table quiz ticket on the night before 8pm. St. Catherines Under 16s Continue unbeaten Run

The St. Catherines under 16 footballers continued their unbeaten run with a win over St. Marys Saggart 4-7 to 3-8. Our under 15 footballers picked up their first point of 2016 with a hard fought draw against Scoil UiChonaill. Our minor footballers (pictured) played Castleknock in a challenge game in their first game together as a team. Thanks to Castleknock for the game

Hurlers Face Na Fianna in Miller Shield Semi final on Sunday

Our junior hurers get their 2016 season underway with a semi final cup game on Sunday against Na Fianna at 14.00 in St. Catherines Park.

Weekly Lotto

There was no winner of our weekly lotto. Numbers drawn were: 6, 13, 16, 24. Winners of our 5 x 20 euro prizes were: B Hand, C Stephens, M McGovern, P Lynch, J Dunphy. Next weeks jackpot is 5,500 euro. Tickets for our weekly lotto can be purchased at training and also in The Paddocks, The Grasshopper, The Strawberry Hall and The Vineyard for 2 euro each or 3 for 5 euro. Foundation Coaching Course February 6th

Last Saturday was a big day for Camogie and Hurling in the club with no fewer than 11 club mentors successfully completing the course which the club organised in conjunction with the Camogie Association.  Read more about it here.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Thanks to the parents and mentors that have volunteered to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge by doing a full training session as gaeilge with our 4-6 yr olds. All those interested in getting involved can let any of our mentors know.
