Junior Hurling: Erin Go Bragh v Naomh Fionnbarra

Erin Go Bragh 6-9

Naomh Fionnbarra 1-14

Erin go Bragh secured their Junior D status for another year after defeating Naomi Fionnbarra of Cabra by a score line of 6-9 to 1-14. The match was an even contest for much of the first half with the teams trading points until a flurry of goals for EGB all but ended Fionnbarra hopes. Erin Go Bragh were very strong through the middle with Kevin Kenny, Kevin Larkin and Pat Quinn linking well and forming a strong foundation for Gavin Brady and the Watson Brothers to plunder the important scores.EGB took advantage of a shell shocked barrs and led 4-6 to 6 points at half time.
The second half was more spirited than the first with Fionnbarra refusing to throw in the towel and knocking over some well taken scores. EGB were able to keep them at arms length however with Aidan Watson amassing a massive 4-4 at the front and Tony Kelly clearing a world of ball along the half back line. The match was in danger of becoming slightly scrappy at some points with the odd skirmish threatening to boil over but the referee handled everything well and allowed the match to flow with EGB running out deserved winners.
