Junior Footballers Pick up 1st League Win in Impressive Fashion
Erin Go Bragh 3-14
The Erin Go Bragh junior footballers picked up their 1st league win of the season on Sunday in Lawless Park in impressive fashion. For the outset it was clear that the visitors meant business and it was they who got off to an impressive start with debutant James Collins notching up a goal and a point in the opening five minutes. A Barney O’Reilly free increased Erin Go Braghs lead before the home side picked up three points without reply. Another goal from James Collins and points from George Chis and Mark Melbourne put the visitors back in the driving seat before Fingallians got a fortunate goal. Points from Paul Agnew and Barney O’Reilly kept the visitors in control and it was they who went in at half time leading 2-5 to 1-4.
Erin Go Bragh began the second half just like they had started the match with another debutant Cian Healy netting a goal. The visitors kept the score board ticking over with some welled played points. A Farouq Raheem black card failed to slow down the visitors momentum who limited Fingallians to just a handful of scores in the second half. At the final whistle it was Erin Go Bragh faces that were smiling.
