The junior footballers travelled out to Howth for their opening group game of the junior E football championship. The opposition Beann Eadair got off to the better start with a goal and a point in the first five minutes. Both James Collins and Dermot Moloney went closest for the visitors. It was Beann Eadair who had the upper hand in the first half for the first 20 minutes adding to their goal and point with three more scores. Erin Go Bragh looked like they were starting to get into the game in the final ten minutes but just couldn’t open their account with the score at half time 1-5 to 0-0.
The visitors got the second half off to a perfect start with two goals from Richie Daly reducing the deficit to just two points. Beann Eadair responded with three points before Richie Daly added another point. Erin Go Bragh were getting the upper hand but just couldn’t push on and it was Beann Eadair who finished the game stronger with several scores, with Mick Moroney and Mark Melbourne adding to the Erin Go Bragh side of the scoreline.
