Under 10 Girls Football v Westmanstown Gaels

Under 10 Girls Welcome Westmanstown Gaels to Hazelbury Park

On a cold afternoon in Hazelbury Park, our under 10 girls kicked off their 2016 football season with the visit of Westmanstown Gaels. Despite it being their first competitive match of the season and also the first competitive match for new players Anna Darlene and Ava Rose Lowry, our girls showed great skill and strength, both on and off the ball. In what turned out to be a very exciting and spirited match, both sides showed great attitude and endeavour throughout.

Our girls competed extremely well against a strong Westmanstown team and they showed great ability and skill in the tackle, regularly disrupting their opponents attacking opportunities. Coupled with this, their ability to turn defence in to attack by moving the ball quickly and directly into our forwards, was something that both parents and mentors alike were extremely impressed with. It is a reflection on all the hard work that they are doing during training. Well done to all and keep up the hard work!!!

The girl’s next U10 football match is away to Naomh Mearnog on Saturday 12th March. Our under 8 girls have their first outing at home to Garristown on Sunday 13th March, while our under 9 girls have to wait until Sunday 03rd April to get their season started, away to Fingal Ravens.
