Under 14 Camogie v St. Maurs

Erin Go Bragh 2-1

St. Maurs 5-2

The Erin Go Bragh girls showed up for their first league outing in Division 3 of the Under 14 Camogie League with fire in their bellies on Saturday. The girls raced into a 2 goal lead early in the game.  Captain Amy Flanagan lead by example and urged her team mates on and only for a few narrow missies  Erin Go Bragh could have been further ahead. The tackling was fierce but slowly St Maurs came back into the game and finished the first half with a goal which left Erin Go Bragh ahead 2-1 to 1-2 at the break.

After the restart the St Maurs girls started to take a hold in midfield and began to dominate the game.  The Erin Go Bragh girls defended strongly but in the end St Maurs ran out winners by 5-3 to 2-1.  It was a terrific match and the Erin Go Bragh girls can be very proud of their effort.  St Maurs definitely knew they were in a game.  On to the next game in a week against Whitehall in Hunters Run and there is so much to build on.
