Under 13 Ladies Football v Na Fianna

Erin Go Bragh 5-8

Na Fianna 1-2

On a warm Saturday for football the Erin Go Bragh under 13 girls entertained Na Fianna hoping to continue their push for league honours.  The Na Fianna girls arrived very early and showed their intent to provide stiff opposition in the first 15 minutes.  Scores were at a premium and both defences were on top.  Strong defensive displays from Lauren Doherty, Amy Carroll, Kim Scully, Ciara Conway, Rachel Murray, Keri Redmond, Claire O'Carroll and Jade Omotayo saw Na Fianna limited to 3 points leaving Erin Go Bragh with a narrow 1 goal lead at half time.  Some stern words at half time from manager Jerry O'Sullivan saw a strong push from The Erin Go Bragh Girls and soon the scores started to flow.  Super forward play from Ellen Gribben Leah Ivory, Evelyn Osunde, Aoife O'Sullivan, Abbie Murray, Megan Owens, Anna Omotayo and Ellie Manning saw the girls run out comfortable winners by a score line of 5-8 to 1-2.  Special mention to the Kearney sisters Ava & Katie who made their debuts today and played very well and thanks to Ava for going into the dreaded goalkeeping spot for the second half.  The girls are now assured a top 4 spot for the league semi finals with still 2 league games to go.  Well done girls and now for the push to win the league.
