Under 13 Ladies Football v Beann Eadair

Erin Go Bragh 9-8

Beann Eadair 11-5

This must go down as one of the best ever football games witnessed in Hunters Run over the years.  The EGB girls started the game against a very strong breeze and were always trying to stem what seemed like a constant barrage from the Howth girls.  There was a blow fairly early into the game when Abbie Murray had to come off with an arm injury after having started the game so well.  Great displays in the first half from Leah Ivory, Aoibhinn Burke, Amy Carroll, Kim Scully, Lauren Doherty, Jade Omotayo, Ellen Gribben, Claire O'Carroll and Zoe Kenny left the half time score EGB 3-1 Beann Eadair 6-5.

The second half started with EGB gaining control and the gap was closed to a point midway through the second half.  The never say die attitude of Aoife O'Sullivan, Anna Omotayo,  Keri Redmond, Rachel Murray Ellie Manning, Evelyn Osunde, Megan Owens kept EGB driving on but a 5 minute lapse saw Beann Eadair score 4 goals which proved decisive and even after EGB rallying again the Howth team held out for a one goal victory.  Final score EGB 9-8 Beann Eadair 11-5.  It was a pleasure to witness a great game of open football and credit to both teams.
