Under 13 Ladies Football v Skerries Harps

Skerries Harps 1-3

Erin Go Bragh 10-11

On a wet and windy day on the coast at Sherries the underv13 ladies football team got their Football League Division 3 challenge off to a flying start.  Captain Keri Redmond gave her a charges a rallying team talk and they hit the ground running.  Terrific ball winning and movement around midfield from Anna Omotayo, Keri Redmond Ellen Gribben and Leah Ivory laid the foundation for the deadly forward duo Evelyn Osunde and Zoe Kenny ably assisted by Megan Owens and Ellie Manning do the damage.
Strong performances in defence from the pocket dynamo Amy Carroll, Ciara Conway, Kim Scully Aoibhinn Burke Lauren Doherty and a few super saves from goalkeeper Jade Omotayo kept Skerries scoreless at half time, the score reading Erin Go Bragh 5-5 Skerries 0-0.

Skerries fought hard in the second half but the movement of Aoife O'Sullivan to midfield stemmed any danger of a comeback and the continuing link play from the Erin Go Bragh girls ensured they ran out comfortable winners by a scoreline of 10-11 to 1-3.  Beann Eadair visit Hunter's Run next week in what promises to be a great game as the 2 teams drew last season.
