Under 12 Football v St. Brigids

Erin Go Bragh 7-7

St. Brigids 4-4

There is no better way to start the 2015 season than beating a local rival, and that is exactly what the Erin Go Bragh under 12s did. While the score line would suggest a one sided game this was anything but and probably game of the day in Hunters Run as both sides served up some great football. St. Brigids started the game the brighter going into a 1-1 to 0-0 lead in the first ten minutes. The hosts finally got going and hit a purple patch midway through the first half scoring 2-1 without reply. St. Brigids responded with another goal and a point to retake the lead but it was the home side who finished the half the strongest putting 2-2 past the visitors to lead at half time 3-3 to 2-2.

Erin Go Braghs use of their large panel proved a big factor in the second half with coach Niall O’Hara making sure all players got equal game time. Brigids started the second half just like they started the game dominating for the opening ten minutes but once again the Erin Go Bragh under 12s responded strongly. There was very little between both sides until the closing stages with the home side scoring a number of goals in the closing stages to open their season with a win.
