Hurlers Just Fall Short to Commercials

Erin Go Bragh and Commercials clashed on Sunday in St. Catherine’s Park. Both sides were eager to build on their good starts in the championship, the hosts having beaten St. Jude’s and the visitors accounting for St. Brigid’s in the opening round. It was a closely fought affair with Erin Go Bragh taking an early lead of two points. Commercials responded with a goal and a point and would remain in the lead for the half. At one point Commercials were leading by three points, however the home side reduced this to one by half time the score line 1-4 to 0-6.
Erin Go Bragh levelled immediately from the start. Both sides exchanged points before the visitors conceded a penalty. But the home side failed to convert their chance. They did however hit the back of the net minutes later to take a three point lead and a point shortly after extended the lead to four and put the Braghs in a controlling position. Erin Go Bragh could have tightened their grip on the game with a second goal, but the shot was narrowly missed. Commercials fought back to level the game with just minutes to go clinched the game with a last minute point. Full time Erin Go Bragh 1-10 Commercials 1-11.
