Erin Go Bragh 2-14
It was very much a case of goals win games on Sunday in Tyrrelstown as the Erin Go Bragh footballers lost by the bare minimum for the second time in a row in the league. Tyrrelstown had the opening chances but couldn’t convert as the visitors took time to settle into the game. But it was the away who opened the scoring and surged into a four point lead. Tyrrelstown responded with 2 goals in a row to take the lead. The hosts had chances to extend their lead but again failed to convert with Erin Go Bragh responding with three unanswered points. Tyrrelstown came back again to take the lead but the visitors fought back and at half time both sides were level 2-4 to 0-10.
Tyrrelstown got the first point of the second half but they were to remain scoreless for the next 10 minutes as Erin Go Bragh scored 1-2 and take a four point lead. Both sides exchanged scores until a Tyrrelstown penalty was converted and a point brought the sides level once again. The Braghs responded with another goal and a point to retake their lead but it was Tyrrelstown who finished the closing stages the stronger drawing level with another goal and a point followed by a point in the final three minutes to win by the bare minimum.
