Junior Football v St. Monicas

St. Monicas 1-11

Erin Go Bragh 1-11

Erin Go Braghs junior football team travelled to Edenmore Park on Sunday for their fourth league game of the season. It was a cagey start for both teams with both failing to hit the target for the first ten minutes. The visitors eventually opened the scoring with Monicas replying with 2 points. Erin Go Bragh responded with a goal before St. Monicas hit three points but they were to be the hosts final scores of the half. Erin Go Bragh went on to dominate the final 15 minutes of the game hitting 6 points without reply. The half time whistle was probably the visitors biggest enemy as they led at the end of the half 1-8 to 0-5.

Erin Go Bragh hit the opening score of the second half but St. Monicas hit a purple patch themselves and pulled themselves back into the game and took a one point lead. The final ten minutes were end to end as both sides exchanged the lead before going point for point. While both sides could claim that they could have won the game a draw was probably a just result in the end.
