Erin Go Bragh travelled out to Plunketts College on Sunday morning to face championship favourites Rosmini Gaels in the Junior E football semi final. Rosmini had to date dispatched of all opposition in their championship group in impressive fashion finishing on top. But Erin Go Bragh had also recorded impressive wins over Beann Eadair and Shankill in their own group and pushed eventual group winners AIB close  in their only defeat in this competition.

The hosts started strongly with 1-1 in the opening minutes before Erin Go Bragh opened their account with a point from a free. But that was to be Erin Go Braghs last score for 20 minutes as Rosmini  dominated proceedings to register a further goal and three points. A point from play and a 45 closed the gap but it was the hosts who went in at half time the happier with a commanding eight point lead the scoreline reading Rosmini 2-5 Erin Go Bragh 0-3.

Rosmini started the second half as they had started the first with 1-1 before Erin Go Bragh responded with a point of their own. The Gaels added more points to their tally, but Erin Go Bragh weren’t going down without a fight and reduced the deficit to 6 points with ten minutes remaining scoring with 2-1 without reply. However the hosts pulled away again in the closing stages with 5 unanswered points to ensure that they will face AIB in the final.
