The Erin Go Bragh Christmas fair took place on Sunday the 6th of December. The day started out at 12 with the clubs annual sponsored walk. A big thanks must be extended to Santa Claus who took time out of his busy schedule to visit the boys and girls. There was a disco, face painting and magic tricks for the kids indoors and penalty shoot outside on the astro of the Castaheaney Community Centre with some stalls for the adults to pick up some Cbristmas presents also.
The day ended with the clubs underage presentations and awards. The huge number of children at attendance in the hall reflects how the club has grown since its arrival to the area in 2005. The club will be fielding underage teams from under 8- minor in 2016 as well as junior football, camogie and hurling teams.
Congratulations to Brian O’Sullivan who won the Robert Stephens Young Sports Person of the year. The trophy was donated by the Stephens family in memory of club co founding member Robert who passed away earlier this year. Robert with Cecil & Martin Stephens, Ollie Shanley, Joe Geraghty, Jim Whittaker and K Wiliamson organised the club in 1986 in Dromheath, moving to Porterstown Park before the clubs arrival to its home in 2005.
